Frequently asked questions

Is the URL shortener free?

Yes. Free accounts can create up to 5 short links with click tracking. Pro accounts ($1/mo) get unlimited links and custom aliases.

Do short links expire?

No. ToolBit short links are permanent for as long as your account is active. We do not expire links on a timer.

Can I use a custom domain?

Custom domains are on the roadmap. Currently all short links use the toolbit.online/s/ prefix.

What does the device breakdown show?

ToolBit logs the user-agent on every click and classifies it as desktop, mobile, or tablet. You can see the split in the link stats panel.

Can I shorten the same URL twice?

Yes. Each submission creates a new independent short link, even if the destination URL is the same. This lets you track different campaigns separately.

What is the URL length limit?

There is no hard limit - you can shorten URLs of any length. The short link will always be under 30 characters.
